About P. A. Stratton & Co., Inc.
Paul Stratton, a builder from Milan, Ohio, had been building decks for several years, when he decided that there had to be a better way to produce custom decks.
He came up with an idea to build “modular decks” in the shop, where they would be more secure and assembly would be faster. He could then transport the finished modules to the jobsite and attach them to the house.
Problem was there were no brackets or hardware to hang the modules. So, he invented and patented the "Stratton Bracket"®.
The “Stratton Bracket's” ® offset design bolts directly against the siding and holds the ledger board about a 1/2" away from the house, allowing water to pass by and not seep into the house. The home owner was grateful that the siding was not cut and the decks, in most cases, were finished in a day. Hence the phrase “Decks in a Day” ™.
As time went on, he found that the brackets could also be used for temporary supports and then his temporary support could be used as an inexpensive tool for straightening bowed deck boards.
He has used the brackets for hanging steps, pergolas, flower boxes and even a collapsible workbench. They have been used in Canada to secure cabin windows and they’re great for door security.
Perfect for making your project either permanent or temporary, the "Stratton Bracket"® is a unique product, patented and manufactured in the USA.
